The lack of available Simonis cloth in North America (worldwide) is due to severe flooding at the factory in Verviers, Belgium in July of 2021.
The entire manufacturing floor was rendered unusable with nearly 9 feet of water throughout the first floor of the factory. Nearly all raw materials, process inventory and finished inventory was lost in addition to many of the machines needed to process the cloth.
Remediation and recovery was begun immediately and new equipment has been being deliverd to the factory over the last few months.
We have used our sister mill in England to keep the flow of the cloth going and we are in the process of transitioning back to full production in our Belgian mill.
Thank you to our loyal customers who keep ordering our product as we are filling backorders as quickly as we can.
